Lettie M. Hoglen, 86, of Morganton, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. She was born on May 15, 1940 in Yancey County, NC to the late Wilks McMahan and Anna Mae Styles McMahan. Lettie was a member of Light House Ministries and retired from Southern Devices. Lettie was a God-fearing woman who loved making her family happy. She loved to go fishing and to make cat head biscuits.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Hoglen; brothers, Carl, Wayne and Floyd McMahan; sisters, Ruth Epley, Bessie Wright and Evelyn Dalton.
Lettie is survived by her children, Donna Reep Craine (Randy) and Ricky C. Reep, Jr; grandchildren, Chris Reep, Kristen Little (Stewart), Ashley Tate, Roxanne Reep, and Patrick Reep; six great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie McMahan; sister, Sally Phillips
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm Monday, June 15, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 2pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Donna O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I know Aunt Lettie is walking in Gods presence. I imagine her and my mom(Diane) making those biscuits for a feast that’s happening with all our loved ones. She was a prayer warrior on Earth, she will be missed. To her children and family I pray Gods peace comfort you during this time.

Lettie was my neighbor growing up. Whenever I would go on walks to clear my head and she was outside I tried my best to talk to her. She was an incredibly kind person and always had the best advice. I'm gonna miss her. My condolences to her family.
Aunt Lettie was a great influence to me during my teenage years. She taught me the power of prayer, to linger and wait on God. She also helped cultivate my love for being in the house of God. We went to so many revivals and regular church services together. I know I will see her again, until then Aunt Lettie❤️I’ll keep pressing onwards!
