Aileen Ferree Williams

Aileen Ferree Williams, 90, died Thursday, November 15, 2012. She was born in Burke County on January 20, 1922 and was a daughter of the late Walter Eugene Ferree and Donnie Hawkins Ferree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ed Williams and by a son, Robert Walter Williams. Mrs. Williams provided loving care to the children in her community, and she loved to garden and raise flowers. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.She is survived by a son, Ralph Williams; siblings, Ned Ferree and Delorise Ewell all of Morganton; granddaughters, Debbie Hamby, Crystal Smith, and Aimee Marler all of Morganton, and Tracy Wilson of South Dakota; and eight great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Cline officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice & Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home & Crematory Center is assisting the family.
