Alan Robinson

Alan Robinson, 65, of Morganton, NC passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at his residence while surrounded by his family. Born in Burke County, NC on September 27, 1948, he was the son of Darese Ruth Buff Robinson and the late Rev. James McCoy "Doodie" Robinson. Alan grew up at Asheville Street Baptist Church and was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He graduated from Morganton High School in 1966 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed and excelled at playing fast-pitch softball and loved working in his garden, hunting, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. Alan owned Salem Television, which later turned into A. & B. Television; he retired from Environmental, Inc.In addition to his mother, Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rhonda Ramsey Robinson of the home; a son, Jamie Robinson of Morganton; daughter, Tiffany Pearson and her husband, Brent, and Heidi Bristol and her husband, Ian, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Hannah, Tabitha, Benjamin, and Malachi Pearson, and Greyson Bristol; a brother, Rick Robinson and his wife, Dereama, of Matthews, NC; nephews, Jason and Jeremy Robinson; a brother-in-law, Jerry Ramsey and his wife, Rama, and their children, Tara and Jeremy.The graveside service will be held at 4:30pm, Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Military honors will be provided by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
