Albert "Paul" Hurt

Albert “Paul” Hurt, 84 of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 11, 2018. He was born August 20, 1933 In Burke County, NC and was the son of the late Johnie Hurt and Edna Allen Hurt. Paul was a devoted father and grandfather that had a deep love for his family. Paul was a United States Army Veteran. Paul enjoyed being outside and had a special love for working in his garden. He was a member of Victory Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Hurt; brothers, Lewis Hurt, Floyd Lee Hurt and Robert Hurt; and sisters, Mildred Webb and Jean Aldridge.
Paul is survived by sons, Gary Paul Hurt and wife, Brandy, Alvin S. Hurt and wife, Sherry, and Albert Sherill Hurt; daughter, Rebecca Cook; brother, Edward Hurt; sisters, Annie Carswell, Sarah Anderson, Geraldine Gibson all of Morganton and Linda Mitchell of Nebo; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Victory Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the church with Dr. Rufus Edmisten officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard and NC National Guard.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
