Alex Van Burleson

Alex Van Burleson, 18, of Morganton, died unexpectedly Monday, April 9, 2012. Born on February 8, 1994, he was the son of Lawrence Van Burleson and Janie Dee Warner Burleson, of Morganton. Alex was a member of First Baptist Church in Glen Alpine. A senior at Freedom High School, Alex participated in the Freedom High Band. When he was your friend, he was your best friend.In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by a sister, April Bridges and husband, Alan, of Morganton; his grandmothers, Nancy Fogle and Elizabeth Burleson, both of Morganton; his maternal grandfather, Roger Warner, Sr. of Palm Coast, FL; uncles, Roger Warner, Jr. and companion, Geraldine White, of Mt. Holly, NC, Edwin Scott Warner of Hildebrand, NC, Dale Burleson, Danny Burleson, and David Burleson, all of Morganton; and three nieces, Samantha, Kathryn, and Susan Bridges.Alex was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bob Fogle and Lawrence Burleson.The memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Glen Alpine with Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Freedom High Band Program, c/o Freedom High School, 511 Independence Blvd., Morganton, NC 28655.
