Alice Bailey Bollinger, 68, of Kela Dr., Morganton died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 following a period of declining health. She was born in Avery County on June 12, 1939 and was a daughter of Virginia Haga Bailey and the late James C. Bailey. Mrs. Bollinger was a retired Textile worker and was a member of Mt. Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her flowers and gardening, and her grandchildren were the joy of her life.Left to cherish her memory as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister are her mother, Virginia Bailey of Morganton; her son, Jamie Bollinger and his fiancée, Kearney Druken, of Raleigh; her daughter, Melanie Taylor, of Morganton; sisters, Ethel McNeely of Morganton and Carolyn Johnson of Claremont; and her grandchildren, Cameron Taylor, Brandon, Kelly, Ryan, and Karson Bollinger, and Winnie Druken. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bailey.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Adams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. At other times the family will be the home of Virginia Bailey, 2871 Bowman Ave., Morganton.
