Alice Ball Duffey

Alice Ball Duffey, 87, of Jamestown Road, Morganton, NC died Monday, May 19, 2008 at Grace Heights. Born in Buncombe County, NC on September 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Ball and Ellie Hensley Ball.Alice is survived by two sons, Charles Elmer Duffey and wife, Connie, and Steven Lawrence Duffey, all of Morganton, NC; a daughter, Jean Hawkins and husband, Larry, of Morganton; grandchildren, Johnny Hawkins, Melinda Marco, Paul Duffey, Heather Duffey, and Sage Duffey; and two great-grandchildren, Kiera Hawkins and Dominique Marco.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Carl Duffey, and two brothers, Garrett Ball and Ellis Ball.The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery on Dysartsville Road. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home.
