Alice Medlin Paisley

Alice Hinton Medlin Paisley, 99, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, September 2, 2019, at Grace Ridge after a short illness. Born in Gatesville, NC on January 14, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Howell and Eula Medlin. Alice attended Elon University. She married her late husband, Dr. Robert Paisley on November 3, 1940. He was deployed to Hawaii, during WWII, and at the end of the war they returned to Morganton. All her life, Alice was very active in the Morganton community. She was active in the First United Methodist Church, the Morganton Garden Club and the Women’s Club. She was avid bridge player.

She was a wonderful, loving, caring and devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family.

Alice is survived by her children, Martha Paisley, Beverly Paisley Cheatham, Robert “Bobby” Paisley, Jr. (Debby); grandchildren, Robert Paisley III (Cathy), Rebecca Paisley, Reed Cheatham; great-granddaughter, Lucy Paisley.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Grace Ridge and Hospice for all the kind and loving care they gave to her.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday September 7, 2019 at Ervin Community Room at Grace Ridge with the Rev. Dana McKim officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
