Alma Cresawn Greene

Alma Cresawn Greene, 78, of Southview Street, Morganton, NC died Monday, July 13, 2009 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. Born in Yancey County, NC on September 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Olan M. Huskins and Mary Harrison Huskins. Alma was of the Baptist Faith. She had worked for Drexel Knitting Mill and retired from Kathy Hosiery Mill. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.Alma is survived by four sons, Robert Cresawn and wife, Mona, of Moganton, Edward Cresawn and wife, Donna, of Morganton, Allen Cresawn and wife, Sharon, of Drexel, NC, and Charlie Cresawn of Hickory, NC; a sister, Lois Webler of CA; ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Cresawn, three brothers, three sisters, and a grandson.The graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2009 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Deacon Preston Stanback officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
