Alma Lail Lloyd

Alma Lail Lloyd, 86, of Morganton died Wednesday, January 28, 2015.  Born in Cleveland County, NC on May 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Everette Raleigh Lail and Dorothy McDaniels Lail.  Alma was a member of Poarch’s Chapel Missionary Methodist Church and retired from Southern Devices.  Mrs. Lloyd volunteered as a special TU to the staff at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center.

Alma is survived by her children, Ray Lail and his wife, Kay, Mary Beaver and her husband, Edward, and Bobby Lloyd and his wife, Janet, all of Morganton, and Patti Proffitt and her husband, Wayne, of Henderson, NC; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Lloyd; a son, Robert Lail; and a brother, Lee Lail.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Poarch’s Chapel Missionary Methodist Church with the Reverends Wallace Smith and Debbie Barker officiating.  Burial will follow in Houck Cemetery in Lenoir, NC.  The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
