Alta Moon

Alta Moon, 95 of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Burke Palliative Care Center, Valdese. Born April 22, 1916 in Stokes County, NC, she was the daughter of the late C. S. Rutledge and Ann Tuttle Rutledge. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Shelley Walter Moon and five sisters.Alta was retired from Sara Lee in High Point, NC and was a member of Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point.Surviving are her son, Roger Moon and wife, Rebecca; daughter Kay Childres and husband, Ronny all of Morganton, NC; grandchildren, Allison Buff and husband Jamie, Jeffrey Moon, Kendall Childres, Sandra Bennett and husband Mark ; great grandchildren, Davin Childres, Charlie and Camm Bennett.The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 2, 2012 at Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Boyd Holliday officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park, High Point. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. They will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church.
