Alton "Al" Lewis Alderman

Alton "Al" Lewis Alderman, 74, of Rollins Park Dr., Connelly Springs, NC, died Friday, September 15, 2006 in Asheville, NC. He was born June 9, 1932, in Carroll County, VA and was the son of the late Ellis Alderman and Thelma Alderman. Al was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Poteat Alderman of Connelly Springs; sons, Elden Lewis Alderman and his wife, Anna of Hickory, Kenneth Alton Alderman and his wife, Carol of Hildebran; Tim Walker and his wife, Vickie, and Gary Walker both of Monroe, NC; daughters, Renee Korn and her husband, Rocky of Lexington, NC; and Robin Bradshaw and her husband, Randy of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Keith Alderman and his wife, Stephanie of TN, Kevin Alderman of Hickory, NC, Brandon Alderman of Troy, NC, Nicholas Korn of Lexington, NC, Jonas Bradshaw of Connelly Springs, Megan Walker and Derrik Watkins, both of Monroe, NC; great grandchildren, Brandon Alderman, Jr. of Troy, NC, Devin Alderman, of Hickory, NC, Derik Watkins, Jr. and Katie Watkins both of Monroe, NC, Christian and Lakeon Alderman of TN, and Ashley Sigmon of Hickory.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2006 at the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday in the Alderman Family Cemetery in Hillsville, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
