Andrew “Drew” Patrick Barnwell, 45 of Valdese, NC passed away, Monday, August 26, 2024. Born on March 31, 1979, he was the son of Morris and Mary Lynn Barnwell.
Drew loved his family including his fiancée, Stacy Gerrmann, with all of his heart. He had the best, dark sense of humor and sarcastic and witty comebacks. If he didn’t crack on you, he didn’t love you. Drews hobbies included playing with his granddaughter, Aarya, painting model figures, and playing video games. He loved to drive down curvy roads, listening to his music and drinking his SunDrop. Drew was a night owl and hissed at the sun.
In addition to his parents, Morris and Mary Lynn Barnwell, Drew is survived by his sisters, Amy Barnwell Fry and husband, Arcturus, Ashley Barnwell Bolin and husband, Jason; fiancée, Stacy Gerrmann; daughter, Aaliyah; granddaughter, Aarya Greiser; nephews Dionte Code, Sirius Fry, Jayden Redwine; nieces, Zoey Redwine, Thea Fry; parent-in-law Walter Gerrmann and wife, Sally; sibling-in-law, Taura Volcano, Todd Gerrmann, Sr. and wife, Pam, Jillian Shumate and husband, Jeff; nieces, Kirsten DeHart and Taylor Gerrmann; nephews, Christian Gerrmann, and wife, Michelle, Todd Gerrmann, Jr. and wife, Destiny, Chad Sampson and wife, Angelica Buchanan.
A Celebration of Drew’s life will be held at 3pm, Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Stacey and family. I know your hearts are broken. Drew was quite a character. I'm glad I was given the chance to meet the man that stole my best friends heart. Drew you are at peace but will not be forgotten forever with us. RIP my friend. We love you. Stacey will be ok. I promise to help get her through and be by her side. 🙏

I can not believe this just going thru to see if anybody I knowed and Drew come up . I worked with him some at papa johns always liked him . Prayers for his family and friends. Rest in peace Drew .
