Andrew Thomas, 77, of 119 View Street, Morganton, North Carolina, was called home by his heavenly Father on Saturday, February 03, 2018.
Andrew Thomas was born in Burke County on April 21st 1941 to the late Tom C. Thomas and the late Florence Hemphill Thomas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers; Preston O. Thomas, Waymond Thomas, Jackson D. Thomas, Richard Thomas and Tommy Thomas; three sisters: Marian S. Thomas, Eva M. Avery, and Jacqueline L. Thomas.
Andrew never married nor had children, but leaves to cherish his memory in love one sister, Nora Windom and her husband Johnny, of Morganton, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
Andrew worked for many years in the transportation and moving industry. He was an extraordinary individual with an enormous heart and warm spirit that blessed others who came in contact with him. As we accept the infallible will of God, we realize that this world has lost a great man while heaven has gained a great soul.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at New Hope In Christ Baptist Church. The service will follow at the church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Max Bristol officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
