Andy Pollard

Andy Pollard, 59 of Morganton, NC died Friday, December 27, 2013 at his home. Born Nov. 28, 1954 in Burke County, NC, he was a son of the late Harold Hicks Pollard and Mary Sue McGalliard Pollard. He served with the U. S. Army in Vietnam. Andy was a retired employee of the N.C. Department of Transportation and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Casey Pollard.Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Farris Pollard of the home; a son, Drew Pollard and wife, Leigh Anne of Morganton; a daughter, Hillary Biggerstaff and husband, Mark of Morganton; grandchildren, Lawson and Parker Biggerstaff and Bayleigh, Crayton, and King Pollard all of Morganton; brothers, Hicks Pollard, Sam Pollard, and Mark Pollard all of Morganton; and a sister, Susan Epley of Morganton.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2013 in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Dysartsville Rd. with Rev. Steve Parker officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
