Ann Maxine Buck Slater

Ann Maxine Buck Slater, 91, of Camelia Garden St., Morganton, NC went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 while surrounded by her friends. For the past nine and one half years, she had been a resident of Burke Long Term Care Facility where she truly loved living. Born January 6, 1918 in Antwerp, NY, she was a daughter of the late Emery W. Buck and Lula May Rudes Hentz. Maxine was an accomplished seamstress and had attended Oak Hill United Methodist Church. She was a unique individual, and once someone met her they never forgot her.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Slater.Maxine’s friends wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the owners and staff of Burke Long Term Care for the devoted attention and care given to her during the years she spent there. A special thank you is also extended to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care.At a later date, Maxine’s ashes and those of her husband and mother will be interred in Antwerp, NY.
