Anna Laura Edmonds

Anna Laura Edmonds, 80, of Flint Ave. in Morganton died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born June 30, 1930 in Polk County, NC to the late Vance Walter Greene and Lilard Horton Greene. Anna attended Christian Outreach Ministries where she volunteered in the food ministry. She had worked as a seamstress in Burke County at various textile mills.Anna is survived by a son, James Carrel Edmonds, Jr. of Morganton; a daughter, Judy Dianne Riggins and husband, Russell, of Marion; grandchildren, Sissy Roseman, Dawn Bowling, James Edmond, III, Eddie Lanier, and David Lanier; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Annis Stepp of Hendersonville, NC.She was preceded in death by her husband, James "J.C." Carrel Edmonds, Sr.; four brothers and two sisters.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Pastor Holly Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
