Anne Browning

Anne Browning, 81, of Morganton, NC passed away, Sunday, December 27, 2020. Born on August 16, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Dock and Louise Mayfield. Anne was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church. She had worked at South Mountain Children’s Home, Skyland Textiles, Opal Industries, Broughton Hospital, and Grace Hospital, from where she retired.

Anne is survived by her brother, Ralph Mayfield; and sister, Betty Mimbs.

In addition to her parents, Anne is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Browning; brothers, Jasper, Johnny Jud, and Elmer Mayfield; and sisters, Georgia Finley and Mattie Henry.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Kelly Dotson officiating. A memorial service for Frank and Anne Browning will be held this Spring.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
