Anne Kuhnen Carter

Anne Kuhnen Carter, 86, of 109 Foothills Dr., Morganton, NC died Sunday, July 16, 2005 at Grace Heights following a period of declining health. She was born July 5, 1920 in Essen, Germany, and was a daughter of the late Theodore Kuhnen and Gertrude Barkhof Kuhnen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger C. Carter, Jr. Anne was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where she served as a past president of the Ladies Guild. She also was a past president of the Morganton Women’s Club.

Anne is survived by a son, Roger C. Carter, III of Morganton; daughters, Carol Pelligrinelli and husband, Albert of Boca Raton, FL, and Christine Cates and husband, Timothy of Morristown, TN; grandchildren, David Pelligrinelli and wife, Daniela, and their children, Toni and Allina, Jack Pelligrinelli and wife, Lisa, Kelly Anne Cates, Susan Cates Rooney and husband, Paul, and Roger C. Carter, IV.

Memorial services will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Father Kenneth Whittington officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, NC 27404, or to the Salvation Army, PO Box 2786, Morganton, NC 28680.
