Committal
Annette Peeler Martin, 67, of Morganton, NC passed away at her home with her family by her side on March 7, 2018 after battling cancer. She was born on October 10, 1950 in Cleveland County to the late Clayton and Janice Peeler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Martin. She graduated from Salem High School in 1968, where she played basketball. She retired from Starr-Electric in Charlotte, NC where she was the executive secretary for over forty years. After retiring, she moved back to Morganton in October, 2017. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, friend and someone who loved life. She was the best “Ama” ever to her grandkids and great-granddaughter. Annette was a Christian and a wonderful friend who had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help others anytime they needed it. She loved her two pets, Penny and Boots.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, B. J. Brittain and son-in-law, Scott Farris of Morganton; step-son, Jeremy Martin and his wife, Andrea of Mebane, NC; granddaughters, Pamela Baker and her husband, Bryant, and Candace Farris; grandsons, Noah and Grant Martin; great-granddaughter, Blaire Baker who will truly miss her. She also had a wonderful brother, Ernie Peeler and his wife, Nancy. The family would like to thank Burke County Hospice and Palliative Care for their excellent and compassionate care.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm til 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
