Annie B. Roper, 90, of Morganton, NC, went to her heavenly home Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Born in Burke County, NC on June 9, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Lewis E. Pearson, Sr. and Brunie Murray Pearson. Annie was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church where she taught 4th grade Sunday school for 22 years, and she was active in many additional church programs. Annie worked at Shadowline for 44 years and enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for family gatherings. She also enjoyed gardening and roses. More than anything, she loved her family.
Annie is survived by her husband of 71 years, Roy Vernon Roper; sister, Mary “Kathy” Carswell; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by brothers, Lewis E. Pearson, Jr., Phifer Pearson, and Howard Pearson.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Burkemont Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Dr. Eddy Bunton and Dr. Luke Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burkemont Baptist Church, 4668 Burkemont Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
