Annie B. Ross

Annie B. Ross, 91, of Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013. Born in Burke County, NC on April 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Smith and Ennie Carswell Smith Garrison. Annie was an active member of Burkemont Baptist Church and was a homemaker.A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Ross is survived by her sons, Ken Ross of Morganton and Gary Ross and his wife, Brenda, of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Tracy Ann Ross, Josh Ross, Cassie Ross, and Adrienne Donohue; great-grandchildren, Brandon Schuszler and Eleanor, Henry, Christopher, and Ross Donohue; and sisters, Cleo Dale, Minnie Pearl Ross, and Frances Mabe.In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Ray Ross; brothers, Clyde and Paul Smith; and two step-brothers, Hardie and Wilson Garrison.Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Burkemont Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Miller and Rev. Eddy Bunton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
