Annie Edna Hurt Carswell

Annie Edna Hurt Carswell, 90, of Morganton, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. She was born on August 21, 1931 to the late Johnnie Hurt and Edna Allen Hurt. Annie was a good Christian woman and enjoyed reading her Bible. She loved watching birds and was one of the best cooks in Burke County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank V. Carswell; brothers, Paul Hurt, Lewis Hurt, Floyd Lee Hurt, and Robert Hurt; sisters, Mildred Webb, Jean Aldridge, Pansy Poarch, and Nellie Hurt.

She is survived by her sons, David Carswell (Sandra) and Jimmy Carswell; grandchildren, Kendra Grose (Evan), Benjamin Carswell, and Bobby Carswell (Chelsea); great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Rosalyn Grose, Dean Carswell; brother, Edward “Babe” Hurt; sisters, Sarah Anderson, Geraldine Gibson and Linda Mitchell.

There will be a graveside service at 3:00pm on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Mountain View #1 Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Woody officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Amorem (Former Burke Hospice) or Salvation Army.
