Annie "Nana" Norton

Annie "Nana" Norton, 65, of Morganton took her Heavenly flight on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Born in Madison County, NC on December 21, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Jeff Roland Morrow and Minnie Lee Boings Morrow. Nana was a member of Muddy Creek Baptist Church.A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband, Amos Norton; sons, James, Ronald, and Jason Norton; daughters, Gail Mayfield and Susan Sides; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Morrow; and two sisters, Iva Norton and Cora Correll.In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by a sister, Irene M. Vaughn; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Joanie, Brandon, and Jet.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Muddy Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel McMahan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
