Annie Pauline Rector Powell

Annie Pauline Rector Powell, 88, of 124 Graybrook Lane, Forest City, NC died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at home. A native of Burke County she was born on October 15, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Abel Rector and Margaret Huffman Rector Cline. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leroy Powell. She and her late husband owned and operated Rose Creek Campground in Morganton, NC for more than 40 years. She attended Bethany Baptist Church in Forest City.She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Powell Brock, of Forest City, two grandchildren, Kerry Todd Brock and his wife Nikki, and Kevin Tom Brock and his wife, Patsy, both of Forest City; and 5 great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2007 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the home of her daughter, 124 Graybrook Lane, Forest City from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690 or Bethany Baptist Church Missions Fund, 760 Bethany Church Rd., Forest City, NC 28043.
