Arbadella Woodall Whisnant

Arbadella Woodall Whisnant, 72, of Morganton died Friday, January 18, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Blount County, TN on August 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James Woodall and Nora Elizabeth Best Woodall. Arbadella was a member of Rockford Baptist Church. Her true passions in life were her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and photography. She worked at the Presbyterian Learning Center for 5 years.Arbadella is survived by her husband of 44 years, Randy Whisnant of the home; her son, Jason Whisnant and his wife, Katherine, of Valdese, NC; daughters, Lisa Ann Stockton, Marcy Grady and her husband, Kelly, and Jennifer Powell and her husband, Robbie, all of Morganton; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen Grow of Tennessee, Rheta Myers of Tennessee, and Beatrice English of Elk Park, NC.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whisnant was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Morgan, and a brother, J. I. Woodall.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Morganton with Rev. Holly Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
