Arthur Henson

Arthur Henson, 75, of Morganton, NC, went to his Heavenly Home on Sunday, January 3, 2021. Born on February 28, 1945, he was the son of the late James and Fannie Henson. Arthur was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He worked at Drexel Heritage. Arthur owned and operated Morganton Transport Service. He was a hard worker who loved his family dearly.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn Henson; son, Jerry Waldrop and wife, Bernice; daughter, Tammy Lail, and husband, Wesley, Amy Henson, and partner, Jonathan Powell; grandsons, Kevin Waldrop, Russell Waldrop, Jacob Lail; great-grandchildren, Dixie Waldrop, Colt Waldrop; sister, Betty Sigmon.

In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy and Walter Henson.

The family will receive friends from 4pm until 7pm, Friday, January 8, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, January 9, 2021 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Via officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
