Arthur J. "Hard Rock" Hines

Arthur J. “Hard Rock” Hines, 86, of Morganton, NC died Friday, July 1, 2016. Born in Cleveland County, NC on April 30, 1930, he was the son, of the late Barlow Hines and Lala Jenkins Hines. Arthur enjoyed fishing and riding his scooter.
Mr. Hines is survived by his children, Beverly Hines Escudero and husband, Lorenzo, Ervin Arthur Hines, and Lonnie Hines and wife, Laura Whisnant all of Morganton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hines was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Carswell Hines.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 11:30 at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Charlie Bradley officiating. A gathering of friends will be held at the home of Lonnie Hines and Laura Whisnant, 3931 Frank Whisnant Rd., following the graveside service.
