Artie Clark Patton

Artie Clark Patton, 73, of Lenoir, NC died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born in Avery County, NC on December 10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William Elgie Clark and Margaret Loretta Clark. Artie was a member of Lenoir First Freewill Baptist Church and was a poultry grower for Breeden Poultry.She is survived by her sons, Dennis Patton of Morganton, NC, Kenneth Patton of Lenoir, Michael Patton of Granite Falls, NC, and Mark Patton of Lenoir; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and half-sisters, Dovie Mae Rogers and Pearl Buchanan.In addition to her parents, Artie was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Franklin Patton; son, Keith Patton and Darin Patton; a grandson, Tracy Patton; brother, Hubert, Morris, John, and Archie Clark; sisters, Opel Friday, Dorothy Patton, and Ann Everhardt; four half-brothers; and four half-sisters.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2011 at Nowling’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends Darvy Hensley and Jack Moses officiating. Burial will follow in Drucilla Independent Fundamental Baptist Church Cemetery.
