Ashley L. Jones

Ashley L. Jones, age 35, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She was born November 7, 1982 in Morganton, NC to Phillip and Vonda (Jones) Thomas of Charlotte. She was a 2000 graduate of A.L. Brown High School.  Ashley was an Honor Society student and an all-conference basketball player. She was extremely intelligent, beautiful, and loved sports. But most of all she loved her children: Olivia, Arianna and Xander! Ashley, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 2001-2005, was stationed at Nelles Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV. While in the Air Force she exemplified extraordinary leadership skills as the only female to lead a co-ed squadron. She was an EMT specialist and called upon to care for Four-Star General Creed before he passed away. Ashley had an uncanny ability to make everyone laugh and affect people in a positive way.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Jones is survived by her children, Olivia, Arianna and Xander; fiancée, Reginald Fuller; brother, Brandon Thomas (Cierra); nephews, Zion, Izaiah, and Zayden; great-grandmother, Annie Lipford; grandmother, Laura Edmonson Thomas; grandparents, Allen and Louise Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family, friends and others whose lives Ashley touched are invited to Sossoman Funeral Home (1011 S. Sterling St. Morganton, NC 28655) from 3pm-5pm on Saturday April 7, 2018 to reminisce, give condolences, and support each other through prayer and love.
