Audrey Frye Swanson

Audrey Frye Swanson, 84, died March 11, 2009 at Frye Regional Hospital in Hickory after a brief illness.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Howard Frye; a daughter, Donna Day; and, an infant son, Walter Howard Frye Jr.She is survived by her husband, Arvel Swanson, sons, D. Randall Frye and wife, Lynda, of Kings Mountain and Mark Howard Frye of Raleigh. Also surviving are her grandsons Wesley and wife, Elicia Frye and Justin and wife Kimberly Frye of Kings Mountain, Earl (Butch) and Ronnie Clark of Hickory and Dwayne and Cheryl Clark of Taylorsville who provided loving care and support for Audrey during her illness; her great grandchildren Nick, Ashley and Josh Clark of Taylorsville and Madelynn, Gabriel and Katherine of Kings Mountain and several great-great grandchildren.A graveside ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Forest Hill Cemetery with her grandson, Rev. W. R. Frye, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Baptist Children’s Home of Thomasville, NC or to Alexander County Nutrition Program at 604 7th St. SW, Taylorsville, NC. 28681. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
