Austin Patrick Wigfall, II

Senior Deacon Austin Patrick Wigfall, II, 55, of Morganton died Tuesday, March 19, 2019.  Born on September 8, 1963, he was the son of the late Austin Patrick Wigfall and Mary Katherine Lyles Wigfall.  Austin was a member of Restoration Christian Outreach Church and had 17 years of service as a faithful Praise Team member.  He was a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and saw action during Desert Storm.  He had worked at Foothills Correctional Institute and later worked as a security guard for Google in Lenoir and the Target warehouse in Hickory.

Mr. Wigfall is survived by his son, Austin P. Wigfall, III of Virginia Beach, VA; a granddaughter; brothers, Mark Wigfall of Burlington, NJ and Vinny Wigfall; and his devoted caretaker, Elizabeth Corpening.

In addition to his parents, Austin was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Harrison Wigfall; sister, Justine Wigfall; and brother, Gerry Wigfall.

The memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Restoration Christian Outreach Church (923-A East Union Street, Morganton).  The family will greet friends in the church following the service.
