Avis McGalliard Dellinger, 78, of Nebo passed away Friday, February 28, 2020. Born in Burke County, NC on May 30, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Raymond McGalliard and Verna Engler McGalliard. Avis was a member of Gilead Baptist Church. She was a great, godly woman who loved flowers and gardening.
Avis is survived by her husband, Paul C. Dellinger; daughters, Celia “Sis” Dellinger Lail (Levon McKee) and Kim Dellinger Ogle (Donnie); grandchildren, Leslie, Brent, Patrick, Andrew, and Alishia; step-grandchildren, Jordan and Skyler McKee; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Summer, and Grayson Lane, Lily McKee, and Tanner Conner; and siblings, Don McGalliard (Dorothy), Carol Causby (Larry), Jean Smith, and John McGalliard (Linda).
In addition to her parents, Avis was preceded in death by a son, Dane Paul Dellinger; and sister, Shirley Campbell.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Gilead Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Revs. Allan Carr and Billy Bollinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
