Barbara Allen Hutchens, 61 of Morganton died Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Barbara was born January 31, 1955 in Beaufort, NC to the late Nealy Louise Pratt Mims who raised her with her step-father, the late James D. Mims. She attended NCSD and worked for Drexel Knitting Mill and McDonalds. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and animal lover.
In addition to her mother and step-father, she was preceded in death by her son, David Earl Robinson.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Lee Edward Hutchens; son, James Lawrence Robinson and his wife, Melissa of Castroville, TX; daughter, Christy June Wagoner and husband, James of Morganton; grandchildren James L. Robinson, II, Jennifer Barrier, William Northington, Barbara Louise Klootzn, Angel Rose Klootzn and Betty Sue Klootzn; great-grandchild, Tobias Conley; a brother, Allen Robinson; and her canine companion, Rusty.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverends Billy Chapman and Tom Lineberger officiating.
