Barbara Ann Ennis Oliver, 80, of Drexel died Monday, December 24, 2018. Born in Cabarrus County, NC on April 6, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Ennis and Daisy L. Drye Ennis. Barbara was the first female deputy sheriff of Anson County and was also one of the first “pickers” and treasure hunters. She loved music and dancing.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 43 years, Harry Marvin Oliver; sons, Tim Ingold (Susan) of Bettendorf, IA and Patrick Ingold (Angie) of Valdese; step-sons, Chuck Oliver of Little Mountain, SC and David Oliver (Jo) of Vinton, VA; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Judy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Ingold; son, Randy Ingold; and 4 sisters, Doris, Sue, Patsy, and Jean.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The cryptside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
