Barbara Ann Swink

Barbara Ann Swink, 70, of Claremont, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 5, 2020.  Born in Cleveland County, NC on December 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Boyd Smith and Baby Ruth Smith.  Barbara was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  She worked for Island Textiles for many years and was a great homemaker.  She loved her family and adored her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her children, Richard Richardson (Susan) of Connelly Springs, Tina Fredell (Marty) of Vale, NC, and Angela Moore (Jamie) of Morganton; grandchildren, Ambrea D. Nikens, Richard Richardson, Jr., Joshua Fredell, Marty D. Fredell, Casey Fredell, Brittany Price, Bo Johnson, Hunter Moore, Remington Moore, Carissa Sigmon, and Lakeland Moore; fiancé, Rick Huffman; brothers, Bill, Walter, John, Don, and Tom Smith; and sisters, Carol Stroupe, Faye Green, and Linda Foster.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Swink; and brothers, Earl and Lee Smith.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. John Whisnant officiating.  Burial will follow in Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery.
