Barbara Dyson Huffman, 76, of Morganton, NC went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at her residence. Born in Burke County, NC on January 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Carl Dyson and Carrie Elizabeth Prestwood Dyson. Barbara was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years.
Mrs. Huffman is survived by her husband of 57 years, Melvin Huffman of the home; a daughter, Tammy Fowler and her husband, Klaus; sons, Bruce Huffman and his wife, Laura, Joel Kerrin Huffman and his wife, Brandy, and Jeremy Kristin Huffman; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Crump and Judy Peyronel.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, Buford, and Jerry Dyson.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Steve Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
