Barbara Jo Chapman

Barbara Jo Chapman, 45, of Self St., Cherryville, NC, formerly of 4007 Sunrise Lane, Morganton, NC died Dec. 24, 2006 at Grace Hospital following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 12, 1961 in Charleston, West Virginia, and was a daughter of Helen Ann Taylor Atkinson of Ohio, and the late Arthur Elkin Davis. She was a member and the Senior Pastor’s wife of First Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Rev. William Franklin Chapman, Sr. of the home; sons: Rev. William Franklin Chapman, Jr. and his wife, Misty, of Morganton, and John Arthur Chapman of the home; honorary son, Christopher Q. Arney of the home; a daughter, Tabitha Dawn Kirk, and husband, Roy, of Morganton; honorary daughter, Erika McLean Challita, and husband, Elie, of Morganton; grandchildren: Nicholas Kirk, William F. Chapman, III, Victor Rey Chapman, Diana Marie Chapman, and Savannah Nicole Kirk; brothers: Carl Davis and Paul Davis, both of Ohio, and Marvin Davis of West Virginia,: sisters: Karen Maskers of West Virginia, Linda Maddix of Kentucky, and Jennifer Mathey and Patrica Mathey both of Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the First Apostolic Church with Rev. Bill McCartney, Rev. W. W. Gilmore, and Rev. Don Bault officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherryville City Cemetery, Cherryville, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Tabitha Kirk, 3736 NC 18 South, Morganton.
