Barbara Maxine Swink Randall, 88, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord and her husband on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Born in Burke County, NC on February 16, 1935, she is the daughter of the late John Swink and Bertha Fleming Swink.

Barbara was a loyal, life-long member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was devoted to her church and friends and enjoyed reading the Bible, cooking, and traveling.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Barbara is survived by her sons, Michael Randall (Cindy) and Marty Randall (April); grandson, Jeremy Randall; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended famly.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Carl Randall; and siblings, Shirley, Betty, Rosie, Johnny, and Bill.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. Dr. Jack Hodges and Rev. Dr. Larry Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2396 Enola Road, Morganton, NC 28655.

The family would like to express their appreciation to her neighbors and dear friends, Lary, Judy Smith, Wende Jamison, Teri Jordan, Shirley Merrill, and Marge Decker for their help and loving care of Barbara. The family would also like to thank the staff at Hope Ridge for their dedication and compassion for their residents.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Family and friends, it was my pleasure and joy to work along side Barbara at Vocational Rehab. She was a remarkable lady and will be missed greatly. Heaven has certainly gained a Saint. She modeled the Christian life in all she said and did. Fond memories will prevail.
