Barry A. Butler

Barry A. Butler, 70, of Morganton, NC died Friday, May 8, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on September 25, 1944, he was the son of the late Delilah Jane Butler Lane.
Barry was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his children, David K. Holman of Lenoir, Cynthia A. Oxentine and her husband, Larry of Rutherford College, Jeffrey Allen Holman, and Barry Chris Butler, both of Morganton; grandchildren, Joshua Jackson, Arielle, and Raina Oxentine; and sisters, Carolyn Bivens and Glenda Hoyle, both of Morganton. In addition to his mother, Barry was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Lee Jenkins Butler.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Blain Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Burke Memorial Park.
