Barry Johnson

Barry Johnson, 66, of Laurel Point Drive, Nebo, NC died unexpectedly Monday, July 13, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Catawba County, NC on November 2, 1942. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Isenhaur McDonald, and his step-father, Charles R. McDonald. Barry attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and was in the Army National Guard. Barry worked the majority of his life in construction, having worked at APAC Paving and Construction in Asheville and retiring from Construction Logic. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved sailing and hiking.Barry is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lillian Wilson Johnson of the home; sons, Jeremy Johnson and wife, Jamie, of Raleigh, NC and Derek Wall and wife, Heather, of Black Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Hayden Johnson, Daintry Wall, and Christian Wall; and his beloved dog, Shelby.A celebration of Barry’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. John Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
