Barry L. Corn

Barry L. Corn, 54, of Morganton died Sunday, June 3, 2018.  Born in Wake County, NC on February 5, 1964, he was the son of the late Billy Erving Corn and Carolyn Reid Dowdy Lachot.  Barry was a member of Linville United Methodist Church and enjoyed nature and being outdoors.

Mr. Corn is survived by his wife, Denise Vance Corn of the home; daughters, Amy (Joe) Myers and Emily Corn, both of Morganton; grandchildren, Madison “Littie Lou” Myers and Bryson “Butter Bean” Clark; brothers, Kenneth (Catharine) Corn of Morganton and Phillip Corn; sister, Sharon Gootman of Pinehurst, NC; a numberof special nieces and nephews; step-father, Bill Lachot; canine companions, Miss Lillie and Mr. Charlie; and feline companion, Kiki.

In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by a brother, Robert F. Corn.

The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 7 at Linville United Methodist Church on Hwy 126 with the Rev. Kathy McAbee officiating.  The family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Linville United Methodist Church, 3625 Fish Hatchery Road, Morganton, NC 28655 or to the House of Refuge, 106 Murphy Street, Morganton, NC 28655.
