Barry Scott Fisher

Barry Scott Fisher, 41, of Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012. Born in Burke County, NC on March 28, 1970, he was the son of Issac E. "Buddy" Fisher and the late Linda Branch Stamey. He graduated from Freedom High School where he participated in J.R.O.T.C. Upon his graduation he attended Catawba Valley Community College and Western Piedmont Community College. Barry was a member of North Morganton United Methodist Church and was executive vice-president of Triangle Contractors. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his daughters, who were his greatest passion in life. Barry also had a passion for music and loved to play and sing with his daughters. A talented man, Mr. Fisher also played golf, the banjo, and was an outstanding cook.Barry is survived by his wife of 20 years, Michelle Davis Fisher of the home; daughters, Elizabeth and Emily Fisher, both of the home; his father, Buddy Fisher and wife, Daleleen, of Morganton; a brother, Elijah Fisher of Morganton; a step-brother, Jason Dobson of Morganton; a number of uncles and aunts; and his faithful canine companion, Selena.Barry was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harlon and Lillie Mae Fisher.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at North Morganton United Methodist Church with Reverends Neill Shaw and Dwayne Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour.
