Belinda G. Calhoun

Belinda G. Calhoun, 56, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, March 7, 2015 following a lengthy illness.  Born in Burke County, NC on July 2, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Ledford and Nina Walker Ledford.  Mrs. Calhoun worked as a CNA for over 25 years at Broughton Hospital and nursing homes throughout the county.  She enjoyed taking in and caring for cats.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, Belinda is survived by her children, Phillip Calhoun and his husband, Jody, of Lenoir, NC and Chris Calhoun of Morganton; a grandson, Christopher Calhoun; and a brother, Roger Ledford of Morganton.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating.  Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
