Benjamin "Benny" Martin

Benjamin "Benny" Martin, 70, of Fenimore St. in Winston-Salem, NC died Friday, March 27, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 4, 1938 in Lincoln County, NC, and was a son of the late Elmer M. Martin and Mary Norris Martin. Benny was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem. He graduated from Morganton High School in 1957, and then graduated from High Point College. Benny was a retired employee of North Carolina Baptist Hospital where he had worked in the hematology department for 26 years.Benny is survived by a brother, W. Murrell Martin and his wife, Faye, of Claremont, NC; nephew, Andy Martin; nieces, Jill Pittman and Jenny Smith; great-nephews, Christopher and William Pittman; and a great-niece, Tracey Lail.Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Bruce Walker officiating. Sossoman Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
