Berlin Andrew Stine

Berlin Andrew Stine, 85, of Morganton, NC went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 after an extended illness. Born in Forsyth County, NC on September 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Edward Alonzo Stine and Ruth Proctor Stine. Berlin was a very active member of Friendship Baptist Church, which was very dear to his heart. At the church he served as a deacon, taught adult Sunday school, loved music, and sang in the church choir. He retired from Drexel Heritage Furnishings with over 42 years of service.Berlin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mearl Louise Morrow Stine; a son, Danny Stine and his wife, Jessica, of Jackson, TN; daughters, Linda Barnes and her husband, David, of Stallings, NC and Patsy Franklin and her husband, Eddie, of Morganton; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Stine and his wife, Diana, of Mocksville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Berlin was preceded in death by a step-mother, Addie Mabe Stine.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church with the Reverends Phillip King and Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
