Bert Edward Harrell

Bert Edward Harrell, 81 of Morganton died Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Bert was born in Aulander, NC to the late Carey Curtis "C.C." Harrell and Pauline Sitton Harrell. He was a respected businessman in Morganton for over 50 years. Bert was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, where he taught the Spiritual Formations Sunday School Class.Bert is survived by his wife, Judy Hovis Harrell of the home; children, Diane Harrell Bordeaux and husband, Jeff, of Durham, Robin Harrell of Hastings, NE, Taylor Harrell of Morganton, John Harrell of Morganton, Chris Randall and his wife, Ashlee, of Moseley, VA, John Scott Randall and wife, Sasha, of Atlanta, GA, and Hope Harrell of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Martha McGehee, Carey McGehee, Caroline Harrell, Anna Marie Harrell, Patrick Randall, Colin Randall, Reese Randall, Stella Randall, and Sienna Randall; and a sister Betty Ann Elmore of Morganton.A celebration of Bert’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. and Rev. Bryan Rainbow officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will have a gathering of friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the church parlor prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 459, Morganton, NC 28680.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
