Betty A. Digh

Betty A. Digh, 82, of N. Council Oak St., Morganton, NC died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born March 5, 1926 in Burke County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Otis and Callie Fox Alwran. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles S. Digh of the home; a son, Charles S. "Chuck" Digh, II and wife, Vickie, of Morganton; a sister, Barbara Hines of Lincolnton, NC; and a grandson, Wesley Digh.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ima Clontz and Jean Rader.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Thompson and Rev. Bob Devinney officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until 11 am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Painting Fund, 407 S. Green St., Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
