Betty Biggerstaff Causby

Betty Biggerstaff Causby, 81, of Morganton, NC passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 26, 2016.  Born in McDowell County, NC on June 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Paul Cole Biggerstaff and Ruth Houk Biggerstaff.  Betty was a member of Zion Baptist Church where she was active in the Beulah Group with the WMU.  She retired from Broughton Hospital with 34 years of service.

A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Betty is survived by her daughter, Debbie Causby of Morganton; a grandson, Chase Abernathy; a great-grandson, Brady Abernathy; sisters, Bea Williams of Morganton, Bertha Bradshaw of Morganton, Barbara Wise of Marion, NC, Brenda Kemp of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Becky Ligon of Columbia, SC; and brothers, Tom Biggerstaff, Larry “Puff” Biggerstaff, and Randy Biggerstaff and wife, Betty, all of Morganton.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Eugene Causby; a great-granddaughter, Blakely Abernathy; a brother, Lawrence Biggerstaff; and a sister, Tina Clontz.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 pm, Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Zion Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 4 pm at the church with the Rev. Keith Rose, Dr. Steve Parker, and the Rev. Stephen Collins officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
