Betty Bowman Chapman

Betty Bowman Chapman, 67, of Drexel, NC died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. Born May 18, 1943 in Dickenson County, VA, she was a daughter of Iowa Edwards Bowman of Statesville, NC and the late Haradine Bowman. Betty was also preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Chapman.In addition to her mother, she is survived by brothers, Fairy, Larry, Ike, and Raymond Bowman, all of Haysi, VA; sisters, Jenny Lynn Bowman of Haysi, Clara Miller of Wilkesboro, NC, and Carrie Ann Branham and Mammie Dunsford, both of Statesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Rash officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
